China’s orphanages are filled with children of all ages abandoned under the One-Child Policy. Over ninety-five percent of all children adopted from China are female. |

Fundraising EffortsThere are millions of children who may never find their forever families. To help meet some of their needs and let them know in some small way that they aren’t forgotten, our family continues to make donations to the orphanages that took care of my sisters. Over the years, we have fundraised as well as made personal donations. For several years, we held a poinsettia fundraiser at Christmas time where proceeds went to Bengbu SWI. At other times, we donated monies at Chinese New Year so the children could receive new clothes as is Chinese custom. There are lots of ways you can help too…. By sponsoring a child, donating to a specific orphanage or helping pay for medical procedures and care. Below are two of the non-profit organizations my family has been involved with over the years.
